Andrew Tanner

Andrew Tanner is the newest associate at Farrar, Hennesy & Tanner and the second generation of his family to practice here. He is the oldest son of partner Drew Tanner and joined the firm after earning his law degree from the Charleston School of Law in 2024.

He Grew Up Around the Office

Andrew was a kid in the waiting room long before he was an attorney in it. His father has practiced at Farrar, Hennesy & Tanner since 1997, and Andrew spent his childhood watching how the firm treated the people who walked through the door.

What he took from it was less about the law than about the manner. Clients here get told the truth, they get their calls returned, and they get treated the same whether the case is worth five figures or seven. That standard predates everyone currently in the building. The firm opened in Douglas in 1949, and Andrew is the fourth attorney on the current roster to have followed a father into it, alongside Kirk Farrar and Matt Hennesy.

Marketing, Banking, Then Law

Andrew took a longer road here than people assume. He graduated from Georgia Southern University in 2017 with a degree in marketing and a minor in finance, then went to work in freight forwarding and later at Colony Bank.

Those years were not a detour. Freight and banking are both businesses where somebody is always waiting on a document, a deadline, or an answer, and where a client's problem is rarely just a paperwork problem. He learned how companies actually operate and what it takes to keep someone informed when the process is slow. Then he went to the Charleston School of Law and finished his J.D. in 2024.

His Commitment to Every Client

Injury and workers' compensation claims arrive at the worst point in someone's year. Andrew's job is to make sure the person on the other side of the desk understands what is happening to their case and why.

He handles it the way he was raised to: return the call, explain the step, and never let a client find out something important from the insurance company first.

Home, Faith, and Family

Andrew married his wife, Tiffany, in May 2023. They are raising their daughter, Evelyn, in Douglas, and the family attends Saint Andrew's Anglican Church.

Most of what matters to him sits within a few miles of the office, the same way it did for his father's generation, and his grandfather's before that.
